Professor Bidhu Bhusan Mishra commenced his academic journey as a Lecturer at Berhampur University in 1988 and later joined Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, in 1990. He served an extensive 32-year tenure at Utkal University, where he adeptly fulfilled his academic and administrative responsibilities, including holding positions such as Professor & Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and Syndicate Member. He became the Vice-Chancellor at Sambalpur University following his retirement from Utkal University on January 9th, 2023.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has overseen the guidance of over 50 Ph.D. Scholars, authored more than 100 research papers and six books and developed course materials for esteemed institutions such as IGNOU and Odisha State Open University. Additionally, he has participated in over 150 seminars, often assuming the role of chairperson. His notable contributions extend to research projects supported by organizations including UGC, ICSSR, MCL, TATA STEEL, IOCL, and OMFED. Professor Mishra has also conducted multiple training programs for corporate entities, displaying his commitment to bridging academia and industry.
His exceptional achievements have been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the POSCO Asia Fellowship in 2007, the Commonwealth Academic Fellowship in 2013, and the National Rural Talent Scholarship (1973-77) and National Scholarship (1977-81) for his exemplary contributions.
Professor Mishra's academic pursuits have also encompassed international exposure, with visits to countries such as the United Kingdom, Korea, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, fostering a global perspective.
